In our music
God is glorified...

May those present be touched by the gift of music, and their souls refreshed!

Worshippers at Church of the Wayfarer are treated to the magnificent tones of our 32 rank Schoenstein pipe organ, arguably the finest instrument of its kind on the Monterey Peninsula.

In addition to the wonderfully expressive performances by Marshall Carpenter, Organist in Residence and Coordinator of Music, we welcome a guest artist every Sunday. Learn more below.

A Ministry Through Music

Those who serve in the ministry of music come together to offer their music in thanksgiving and to the Glory of God.

Church of the Wayfarer is a superb musical venue. The European flavor of the sanctuary is warm and inviting.

In the balcony reposes the 32 rank Schoenstein pipe organ that was installed in 1992. Its luscious romantic style is truly an asset to any service. The orchestral resonance of this instrument is unsurpassed on the Monterey Peninsula.

In addition, a Yamaha C7 grand piano sits on the main sanctuary floor and is a favorite of all artists who perform on it.

Guest Performers

Each Sunday of the year a guest artist brings their musical gift to The Wayfarer.

The available resources include the Schoenstein pipe organ, a 7' grand piano, a Yamaha synthesizer, and a budget to contract with high end instrumentalists and vocalists.

Most importantly, and the greatest resource, is a congregation and administration that supports fine music for enhancement of the worship experience.

Organist in Residence and Coordinator of Music

As Organist In Residence and Coordinator of Music, Marshall Carpenter programs and performs in approximately 52 small recitals annually.
